Well, if it not a time-space continuum crack, then I’d say it is piece of dust that was on photo plate during digital scanning, See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digitized_Sky_Survey on how DSS2 was made.
Julian thats gas from a supernova…or a planet something like that
